Lenovo’s long-ailing smartphone unit hopes to pare its losses by bringing enterprise nearer to house.
The legacy electronics-maker is focusing on higher-end Chinese language customers within the enterprise and gaming segments, as its executives guess on the nation’s consumption improve pattern.
The unit has not turned an annual revenue because it purchased Motorola in 2014, and has struggled to combine the American system maker’s property and operations.
However it narrowed these losses by greater than half within the third quarter of 2020, because of higher-priced handsets it has rolled out this 12 months. Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing anticipated the smartphone enterprise to show a revenue as early as subsequent quarter.
Total the corporate carried out above expectations within the first half, making a file pre-tax revenue of $470 million.
