media launch: A free, five-week course for primary laptop abilities will probably be held in-person at Madison Public Library’s Central Library location from November 2 – December 11, 2020.
The category is accessible in each English and Spanish. Contributors who attend a minimum of two of the 5 courses provided can earn a free laptop.* Class dimension is restricted; if a category is full events will probably be added to a wait listing. Precedence is given to adults with caseworker referrals or from low-income households.
In-person courses will happen at Central Library Mondays and Wednesdays (in English), and Fridays (in Spanish) from 4-5:30pm. Every class is an hour lengthy, with half-hour reserved for questions.
Week 1: Pc Fundamentals (November 2, 4) (Spanish – November 6)
Week 2: Utilizing Google Docs (November 9, 11) (Spanish – November 13)
Week 3: Web Fundamentals (November 16, 18) (Spanish – November 20)
Week 4: Intro to Electronic mail (November 30, December 2) (Spanish – Dec. 4)
Week 5: Troubleshooting Your Pc (December 7, 9) (Spanish – Dec. 11)
As a consequence of COVID-19, masks are required; attendees should put on a masks that fully covers their nostril and mouth the whole time they’re within the classroom. For attendees who would not have a masks, a free masks will probably be offered. If attendees can not or won’t put on a masks in school, they will be unable to take part.
Everybody On Madison collaborates with native nonprofit and authorities companies to supply free computer systems to qualifying households within the Dane County space. The pc courses have been created by Everybody On Madison, a subset of DANEnet, and are sponsored by town of Madison and Madison Public Library.
